Oran Mor aka "The Church"

I went to this place several times while living in Glasgow. We call it "the Church" since the first time we saw the place it impressed us a lot: it's a church converted in a bar!

Inside there's always a lot of people, mostly Glaswegians, drinking pints of beer and chatting. It's not a cheap place, but fine to go with your friends on a weekday or with your girlfriend in a relaxed mood.

I love it!

Good restaurant

A good place to drink some typical cocktails and Mexican food in a really good environment. The steak was superb!

Crazy!

If you want to spend a crazy night in a club with hardcore techno music and lots of people dancing like possessed and having fun, this is the place.

The best day to go is on Thursday - you'll find it crowded. Entry fee is just 2 or 3 pounds but inside beer is just one pound.

Not suitable for spaniards

I've read many good reviews about this place, and since I was living in Glasgow for several months, I gave it an opportunity.

The experience was really disappointing. Prices are really high (remember that we're talking about tapas) and dishes are only a simulation of the real Spanish food. You can do it better buying some ingredients at Morrisons, really!!

Spanish omelette was tasteless, squid tapas just 3 rings and meat-balls were spicy (incredibly hot) and mixing ingredients that you will never find in Spain... bad too.

The only good thing was the local, with a really good decoration.
