small boy pissing
For some reason it is one of the most touristic points of the city. When I first saw it, it was a big disappointment.... i expected a much bigger and spectacular monument.

Its a company which delivers quite good pizzas to your place in 30 minutes. Kind of "Pizza Hut", but far better pizzas. It has establishments all over Spain, where you can eat the pizza in a young, modern atmosphere, but also quite cold, as in most fast-food places. It's funny that you can see through a glass how they prepare the dough of the pizza.
Anyway, I recommend to order one to your place. Perfect for a day you want to watch a film or a match on TV.
You can order by phone, or online, in www.telepizza-online.com

basque pintxos
I've known this place through 11870, and I couldn't be happier! I really like basque food, and here it was great! We really enjoyed the place (decorated like if we were in Euskady), the food, the people...
I would definetely go back.
There are different dishes depending on the day, and they all cost 6€. We ordered 3 dishes for 2 people to share, and it was fine.
It is perfect to go after (or before) seeing a film in the "Roxy" or "Paz" cinemas.

good atmosphere any day of the week
It is a place where you can have a drink with friends with fine music (i don't remember liking or disliking it) which lets you talk with your friends without having to shout) except some nights (normally week-ends) when it is so crowded it is not quiet at all.
Drinks are cheap (you can enjoy the 2x1 offer until 2.30).
The area is nice, it is in the Chueca district, which has a quite good nightlife for everyone, specially for gay people.

Basque pintxos in Madrid
This is a place where you can find lots of the typical basque pintxos (small tastes of elaborated dishes.... or something like that, i will try to take a picture the next time).
It has very nice basque food. I loved the cod omelette, the green pepper of Gernika, and the txistorra (a kind of saussige)
there are two floors, the bottom one to have some pintxos, and the upper one to have proper dinner or lunch.

good music
This is a small place in the "Alonso Martinez" area. It has very good live music and a relaxed but fun atmosphere. It is not a place to go frecuently if you are (like me) an erasmus student, because most of the people are around their 30's, but it is a very nice place to go a while at the beginning of the night to hear some good live rock, rock&blues, or pop.

best place ever!
If you are planning a fun night in Madrid, you shouldn't miss this place. Watch the map, because it doesn't have a name on the door. It has old and current music, all of which make you dance as mad. Highly recommend it! Moreover, it is in a very nice district of Madrid (La Latina) where you can find lots of bars, pubs, clubs, to finish a great night.

problems with any subject?
If you are an Erasmus student in Madrid, you shouln't have any problem with your subjects (it's Erasmus!). But if you have after all, you can ask here for help. They give classes of many subjects of many universities, and have very good booklets with notes, corrected exercises, advices, etc.. on the subject.
Can be very useful to pass the exams.

Very good meat, but also pasta and pizza
Very good option to have lunch if you are in the Chueca district. They have a very good menu for 11,50€. They have excellent grilled meat and vedgs, and the decoration is very nice and trendy. Care to take a table in the non-smoking area, otherwise you will get all the smoke of your food, because the tables are very close to each other.

cultural activities
For those who come a few days to Madrid, it is worth having a look to the program of Matadero's activities (see the website). It usually has very interesting urban art exhibitions, as well as music and theatre festivals.
Now it is partially closed due to reforms, but it is very interesting anyway.
