All you need to do to enter the contest is sign in (or up, if you don't have an account yet) and review the service on 11870.com. Don't forget to tag it "madrid babel" to let us know it's for the contest. And make sure you submit your entry between May 20th and noon on June 5th.

You get points for completeness (adding your own pictures and videos of the place), practical information and originality, so be creative!

Contest Rules

  • 1.

    Any individual may participate in the contest by contributing a review to 11870.com, provided it's written in English and aimed at recommending a service for someone newly arrived in Madrid.

    11870.com is for people to discover, remember and share businesses and services around the world by posting reviews, pictures and videos. Presently, this contest offers the possibility for the users to save a "place" to their profile page that they consider of use to newcomers in the city. A "place" is any business, company, locale, professional or other type of service with a real activity that is validated by the 11870.com content team.

    The following aspects will be considered when selecting the winning entry:

    • originality
    • usefulness (contains practical information for new arrivals to Madrid)
    • completeness (pictures and videos are considered as part of an entry)

    To participate, contestants must add a "place" to their page on 11870.com and use the tag "madrid babel" when saving it. Participants must be registered users. If not previously, then they must create an account on 11870.com. By registering an account on 11870.com they're accepting the site's legal terms and privacy policy. Any questions regarding entries can be sent to 11870.com

    Contestants must be sole authors and proprietors of all material subject to copyright that they contribute.

  • 5.

    The prize will consist of a 16 GB Apple iPod Touch, with an approximate retail value of 279 €.

  • 6.

    The contest begins on Wednesday May 21st and is open for submissions until noon of June 5th. The prize will be handed out on June 6th at the Madrid Babel party, "Voyage, Voyage", at Barbú club around midnight. The winner will be notified by e-mail on June 6th. If his or her attendance to the party weren't possible, another way of delivery will be arranged.

    The jury will be formed by organizers of Madrid Babel and members of the 11870.com team.

    The territory in which the contest takes place is the municipality of Madrid. It is permitted for any person of legal age to enter the contest as long as they do it in English.

    11870.com reserves the right to modify and/or cancel this contest as well as to reject entries or contestants if they don't comply with the rules here described.

  • 10.

    Employees or associates of Madrid Babel and/or 11870.com and their immediate kin or spouses may not participate in the contest.
