This park is a favourite both with local residents and people from further a field. Although you can walk round the the park all year around, in summer this park is full of people of all ages sunbathing, having picnics, taking a summer´s walk or playing frisbee.
The park offers benches, lots of trees for shade, a botanical garden which is beautiful when all the flowers are in bloom, as well as 2 tennis courts. There is also toilets and a cafe where you can get refreshments and more importantly ice cream to really help in hot weather.
Although the park may not seem that big and a relaxing stroll will probably only take you 20/30mins if you walk to the end of the park and turn left and follow the tracks they will take you the the river mersey and milgate fields. here you can spend hours walking as the route goes all along the river mersey so you can head for northenden or go in the direction of didsbury and see simon´s bridge. there is also a golf course on the other side of the river. (this route along the river is often popular with people bike riding)
