Eat chicken wings like a real American

After months of hype my roommates finally took me to this place on a Monday night for their 10 cent wing special, and I have to say: it's nothing short of incredible. The wings themselves are pretty standard, taste-wise nothing extraordinary; they taste like chicken wings, and that's always delicious enough as a starting point. The deal is that every Monday and Wednesday night from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. they serve chicken wings (Buffalo-style in varying degrees of spiciness and BBQ flavor) for 10 cents each. The catch is that you have to order in increments of 20, so you get 20 wings for $2, 40 wings for $4, etc. So it's best to go with a group of people. After 7 p.m. pints of the house beer are $4 (not bad at all for a pint in Manhattan). The bar itself is a surprisingly tasteful sports bar that's more like a pub (it has tables and booths). Not at all a bad atmosphere in which to consume obscene amounts of chicken. This is far and away one of the best deals I've ever seen--in New York or elsewhere--and it's a testament to good old fashioned American gluttony, which makes it both comforting and repulsive.
